Casting Spells
There are two ways to cast spells, you can use the spell scroll directly, or you may transfer the scroll to your spellbook and cast the spell using the magery skill. When casting a spell from the spellbook you must have sufficient mana and you must have certain items or "reagents" such as seeds or reeds which are consumed in the casting process. When you cast a spell by using the scroll you do not use mana or reagents but the scroll is consumed in the casting process. You can only directly use scrolls up to 4th circle. 5th circle and beyond must be put in a spellbook and cast using magery. In order to use a scroll, type:
/scrolls use (spell name)
Ex: /scrolls use Teleport
The scroll will be consumed and the spell will be cast where you are looking (if it must be targetted). In order to transfer the spell to your spellbook, type:
/scrolls spellbook (spell name)
Ex: /scrolls spellbook Teleport
You can only transfer a spell to your spellbook once, and it can not be removed from the spellbook once transferred. Information on casting spells from the spellbook is located on the magery skill page.
