Plot Survey

You can find out about the nearby plots by typing:

/plot survey

This will give you information about the nearby plots to help you place your own plot. It will tell you things such as whether or not you can place a plot somewhere and how for away the nearest plot is. Plot surveying's range is based on your mining skill. At 0 mining skill you can survey at a range of 100 blocks and at 100 mining skill you can survey at a range of 300 blocks.

Plot Creation

In order to create a plot, you must type:

/plot create (plot name)

Example: /plot create Council of Three Hamburgers

It costs 1000 gold coins and 1 diamond to create your first plot. Plots start with a 10 block radius (20 blocks across). You may own as many plots as you want at any one time, but the price doubles every time you buy a plot and once a week the price drops by half down to a minimum of 1000 coins and 1 diamond. (Ex: 2000 gold and 2 diamonds for the second, 4000 gold and 4 diamonds for the third etc)

In order to see a list of your owned plots, type:

/plot list

Plot Renaming

In order to rename a plot, you must type:

/plot rename (new name)

Example: /plot rename Stupid House

It costs 1000 gold coins and to rename a plot.

Plot Info

You can get info about any plot you are in by typing:

/plot info

This will display to anyone the size, name, owner, protection status and whether the plot is public or private. The owner and co-owners will also see the daily tax rate, the plot funds, the number of days that the tax will last, the center location of the plot, the distance to the center of the plot, the plot value if disbanded as well as the co-owners and friends of the plot.

Plot Expansion

At any time, you may also expand your plot so long as it would not cause your plot to expand into someone elses existing plot. In order to expand your plot, you must type:

/plot expand

This will expand the plot by 1 block radius. Expanding your plot will cost increasing amounts as the plot gets bigger, it costs plot radius times 10, so to expand a size 12 plot to size 13 would cost 120 gold coins.

Plot Shrinking

At any time, you may also shrink your plot by some amount. In order to shrink your plot, you must type:

/plot shrink (amount to shrink)

Ex: /plot shrink 2

This would shrink the plot by 2 blocks. Only the plot owner may shrink a plot. You do not get any money back from shrinking the plot.


Plot Tax

All plots must pay a daily tax, the cost of which starts at 40 gold coins. The tax rate increases as the plot size increases.

(If you shrink your plot to size 1 for some reason, the tax will only drop to 30g/day)

Plot Protection

When you first create a plot, it will be set to protected by default. You may, at any time, turn protection off for the plot. Protection means that while active, only the owner and any co-owners of the plot may create or destroy blocks, use flint and steel to start fires, or dump buckets within the plot. In order to turn protection off for your plot, you must type:

/plot unprotect

And in order to turn protection back on for your plot, you must type:

/plot protect

Co-Owners and Friends

As the owner of a plot, you may designate other players as co-owners or friends of the plot.

  • Co-owners may do the following on a plot
    • Build and destroy blocks while the plot is protected
    • Add and remove friends of the plot
    • Use locked switches and buttons when the plot is locked
    • Remove and deposit funds into the plot
    • Co-owners will not be kicked from the plot when they log into the game if they logged out inside the plot boundary
  • Friends may do the following on a plot
    • Use buttons and switches
    • Deposit money into the plot (Friends may NOT withdraw money from the plot)
    • Friends will not be kicked from the plot when they log into the game if they logged out inside the plot boundary

In order to add a co-owner, you must type:

/plot co-owner (player name) 

Example: /plot co-owner Carl

In order to add a friend (or change someone from a co-owner to a friend), you must type:

/plot friend (player name) 

Example: /plot friend Carl

In order to remove the friend or co-owner status of a player, you must type:

/plot unfriend (player name) 

Example: /plot unfriend Carl

Plot Funds

Every plot has the ability to hold gold coins. Gold coins stored in the plot funds are used to pay taxes and expansion costs for the plot. In order to deposit gold coins into the plot fund, you must type:

/plot deposit (amount)

Example: /plot deposit 50

In order to withdraw gold coins from the plot fund, you must type:

/plot withdraw (amount)

Example: /plot withdraw 50

Public and Private plots

By default, plots start Protected and Private. At any time you may set the plot to private or public. Private plots have all of their buttons and switches automatically locked, which means they will only work for the owner and co-owners of the plot. If you are not a friend, co-owner or owner of the plot you cannot mark runes in the plot, recall to a rune located in the plot or open a gate with Gate Travel to the plot. A public plot leaves the buttons and switches unlocked by default and anyone can mark, recall or gate to the plot. In order to set the plot to private, you must type:

/plot private

And you can set the plot to public by typing:

/plot public

You can also lock specific buttons and switches even when public by using:

/lock

And then punching the device you wish to lock. To unlock a device, type:

/unlock

When locking and unlocking devices you will get a message telling you that the device has been locked or unlocked.

Plot Testing

It is sometimes kind of hard to figure out if your plot is properly secured, so we included a feature that lets you test the plot's security. You can begin a test by typing:

/plot test

While testing a plot, the plot will treat you like an outsider so you will not be able to place or break blocks or use buttons and switches if the plot is set to private. To end the test, type:

/plot endtest

Plot Selling

Tired of your current plot but dont want to just give it up? Well now you can sell it to another player for any price you choose. You can now put your plot up for sale using:


/plot sell (amount)

And you can remove the selling status of the plot by typing:

/plot unsell

Plot Buying

You can buy any plot that an owner has put up for sale, simply enter the plot that is for sale and use:

/plot buy

Plot Disbanding

At any time you can disband your plot and in the process be returned the plot funds and the plot "value" (75% of the money you put into the plot basically) by standing in the plot and typing:

/plot disband

Plot Upgrades

As time goes on we'll be adding various purchasable plot upgrades. In order to see available upgrades, type:

/plot upgrade

And in order to purchase an upgrade, type:

/plot upgrade (upgrade name)

Ex: /plot upgrade town

NPCs

Depending on the plot upgrades you choose, you have the ability to hire certain NPCs. For now, only the vendor is available. NPC names must be one word and cannot be longer than 7 characters (the 7 character limit is a crappy limitation, I'm working on removing it). To move the npc to a different location, stand where you would like for the NPC to go and type:

/plot npc move (whole NPC name)

Ex: /plot npc move [Vendor] Carl

You must include the whole name you see when you look at the NPC. You can fire an NPC by typing:

/plot npc fire (whole NPC name)

Ex: /plot npc fire [Vendor] Carl

Again, you must include the entire name including the title in brackets. You can see a list of the NPCs on your plot by typing:

/plot npc list
Vendor

Any plot, regardless of town status may hire one vendor per 15 size for free. The vendor takes a cut of 10% from every sale. To hire a vendor, type:

/plot npc hire vendor (vendor name)

Ex: /plot npc hire vendor Carl

You can stock up to 8 different items at a time on the vendor. In order to stock an item, hold it in your hand and left click on the vendor. You will be asked how much you wish to charge per item, so if you wanted to sell a stack of feathers for 3 coins per feather you would type "3" when asked to type in the price. You can see what a vendor has for sale by right clicking on them or by standing near the vendor you with to purchase from and typing:

/vendor list

In order to buy an item from a vendor, stand near the vendor you would like to buy from and type:

/vendor buy (item number 1-8) (amount)

Ex: /vendor buy 1 24

After purchasing an item, the money will be taken from the person buying the item and 90% will be placed into the plot funds. There is no way to take items out of a vendor without buying them at this time, but I will change that soon.

/vendor add (Name)

Ex: /vendor add Hevydd

Adds the held item to a vendor's stock. When using this command, it will ask you what you would like to price it at.
