What is Alignment?

  • Alignment is an indication of who a player is, and what actions they have committed, though it is not always accurate. To better inform yourself about the people you are dealing with, the command /whois (Player Name) can be used to see the murder counts of a player as well as their clan affiliation.

Lawful

  • A person of Lawful alignment can be someone with 0-4 murder counts, after waiting for a criminal's gray status to expire.
    • A Lawful person's name will appear blue in chat.
    • Lawful players respawn at any set bed in Snowdin
    • While in Snowdin the NPC guards will not attack a Lawful player, even when "Guards" is typed in chat.

Criminal

  • A person of Criminal alignment is anyone who has damaged a Lawful player within a recent timeframe. Their name appears gray in chat.
    • Criminals respawn at Impact, alongside Murderers.
    • Criminals will be killed by NPC guards if they wander too close, or if a Lawful player types "Guards" in chat while a the criminal player is near them.

Murderer

  • A person of Murderer alignment is a player who has killed Lawful players 5 times or more, though the name turns red at 5. Every day their murder count will go down by 1, unless the person has 20+ murders which causes their red name to become permanent. The only way to remove a permanent red name is to visit the Shrine of Atonement and pay a fee to have their name reset to the blue Lawful status.
    • Murderers respawn at Impact, alongside Criminals.
    • As with Criminals, a Murderer will be killed by the NPC guards at Snowdin if they wander too close, or a Lawful player types "Guards" in chat with the murderer player nearby.
